The baby was named after Logan Mankins and Tom Brady of the New England Patriots

 

Logan Brady Garcia was born yesterday (Tuesday, May 15th) and weighed in at 11 pounds, 7 ounces and was 23 inches long!  He is by far the largest baby born at the new Phoebe Sumter Medical Center and is the largest baby to be born in Americus in a very long time.

His parents, Dink and Nina Garcia, already have two children and they were both large babies when they were born.

ANDERSONVILLE, GA - Armed Forces Day is Saturday May 19 and the solemn tune Taps will be sounded at every National Cemetery and U.S. Veterans cemetery worldwide at 11 a.m.  This tribute to veterans is called EchoTaps and is sponsored by the organization Bugles Across America.

Since 1949, the third Saturday in May has been designated as Armed Forces Day.  This day will honor all those who have served and continue to serve in uniform.

AMERICUS, GA - Phoebe Sumter Medical Center will host its third annual Women's Health Conference from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. May 19th at the Student Success Center on the campus of Georgia Southwestern State University. This is a free event and women of all ages are encouraged to attend.

"We had more than 400 women attend this event last year, and we are expecting roughly the same number this year," said Marcus Johnson, director of Marketing & Public Relations at PSMC.
