Winn Dixie recalling apple juice, may contain mold

(Phot source: consumeraffairs.com)

(WTVM)- You may want to check your fridge: Winn-Dixie is recalling all 64 fluid ounce Winn-Dixie Organic 100% Apple Juices.

The product is being recalled because it may have levels of "patulin" that exceeds FDA limits.

Patulin is a by-product of molds that grow in fruits and vegetables.

The possibility of serious health issues resulting from the mold is very remote but the product is still subject to voluntary recall.

New standardized evaluations for GA teachers

(WTVM)- Georgia is moving forward
with a plan to standardize annual evaluations for teachers and principals, partially
based on student performance.

The state's general
assembly recently passed legislation to approve the statewide plan.

Governor Nathan Deal is
expected to sign the bill into law, which would go in place by the 2014-2015
school year.

In Georgia, evaluations
will be divided 50 percent on student achievement and 50 percent on other
factors, including classroom observations and student surveys.
